History

The Arjolle estate came into being in 1974, on the impetus of Prosper and Louis-Marie Teisserenc. The original objectives were based on the essential pillars of quality, diversity, and production of excellent wines. Today these values continue to dominate the work on the estate.

Two pioneers and visionary brothers focused first on the renewal of the grape varieties, such as Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Sauvignon Blanc. Land

The landscapes and lands of the Domaine de l’Arjolle represent a beautiful mosaic of diversity, like the winegrowers who cultivate them and the wines made from them.

Vineyards

Concerned about the economic realities, Domaine de l’Arjolle strives to produce quality grapes while respecting the environment and the consumer.

For this reason, the traceability and the charter of sustainable agriculture underpin our professional life projects.

The Terra Vitis approach enables winemakers to strive for the preservation of landscapes and life in the vineyards. Recognized by the Ministry of Agriculture, this certification attests to a sustainable agriculture that involves controlled practices, therefore being a proof of a total transparency towards the consumer.

Harvest

Faithful to its philosophy, the Arjolle estate searches for optimal quality grapes according to the types of wines being produced.

Harvest date is selected one parcel at a time, and it must correspond to exact maturity criteria. This is accounted for during grapes taste-testing (we’re looking for harmony between the skin, the pulp, and the seeds), but also through lab analyses (degree of alcohol content of the grapes; concentration of sugars, etc.).
