The vineyards of Domaine de l\u2019Arjolle span 110 hectares and are farmed with the utmost care and respect for the environment.
In 2000 we were certified Terra Vitis, a comprehensive approach to sustainable wine growing recognised by the French Ministry of Agriculture. We believe that environmental, agronomic, economic and human considerations are inseparable, and Terra Vitis is a truly holistic approach that reflects our values.
Our diverse soils form a rich mosaic, and are perfectly matched to our wide range of grape varieties. Each plot is carefully studied and planted according to its soil type, orientation and natural balance, allowing each variety to express its full potential.<\/p>\n

Be it on a plateau, a terrace or in the foothills, each plot is planted with a grape variety suited to the soil type and its exposure. These choices are based on scientific soil analysis, carried out by digging two-metre-deep pits at several points within each plot. Each variety can thus thrive in its ideal location, producing grapes of the highest quality.
Diversity is the guiding principle at Domaine de l'Arjolle, extending beyond soils to naturally embrace a wide range of grapes. We grow 17 different varieties: Chardonnay, Viognier, Sauvignon Blanc, Sauvignon Gris, Muscat Petits Grains, Grenache Gris, and Roussanne for white grapes; and Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot, Cinsault, Grenache, Chenanson, Marselan, Carm\u00e9n\u00e8re, and Zinfandel for red grapes.<\/p>\n

We are also deeply committed to promoting biodiversity and improving the quality of our soils. This voluntary commitment is reflected by actions such as clearing overgrown areas, which has encouraged the return of two species of wild orchid; planting 950 trees and shrubs to support bird and insect habitats; creating three temporary ponds to provide water for this small ecosystem; and maintaining grassed vineyard borders that contribute to the development of flora and fauna. This meticulous work on our estate is demanding,but also deeply rewarding.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n
